The Raizari
One of the most mysterious and illusive creatures to inhabit Istevia, they are mostly thought of as a legend or an ancient beast, seemingly legendary and mythical in nature. However, records ranging from stone age cave paintings and stone tablets, writings and paintings from several city-states during the bronze and iron ages, and even drawings of the alleged 'lizard-women' of Istevia from later eras, imply that they were (and perhaps still are) more than mere legend. The Raizari, Lizard Women in one of Istevia's many ancient tongues, are allegedly a race of creatures who have, among other things, inherited traits from both reptilian and human species, resulting in a strange breed, infamously described as 'beautiful, powerful women, hidden underneath the horrid scales and claws of a beast,' in the Epic Juriah. To further cement the idea that such a creature existed, several fossilized remains were found recently, seemingly human in appearance, and yet with reptilian features and a far larger size than any known human species. Any claims of mere forgery at play were destroyed by the discovery of several skeletons, all dating to different eras, further cementing the idea that the Raizari were indeed a real species.
